John joined Hanwha in April 2020 and became the President and CEO of Hanwha Defense USA in May 2021. John leads a number of teams that focus on bringing the broad capability of Hanwha Group’s defense sector to the North American market.

Prior to joining Hanwha, John ran the Government business development team at APTIM Federal services. He then worked for BAE Systems, for over 30 years, where he was responsible for business development and strategy, delivering over $4B per year of new and repeat business for their platforms and services division. Prior to his US business development roles, John held project management and engineering positions at various BAE UK business specializing in combat vehicles, weapon systems defense electronics and long range radar systems.

John has extensive experience with a wide range of military customers including the US Department of Defense where he led teams that brought the M777 lightweight towed howitzer to the US Army, USMC, Canada, Australia and India. John also has a broad business development background in the UK, Europe, NATO, the Middle East and South America.

John is a Project Management professional (PMP) and holds a higher national diploma in mechanical and industrial engineering and a post graduate diploma in human resource management from the University of Portsmouth in the U.K.

John is married with two sons and lives in Oakton, VA.
