Rich Martin assumed the duties as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff (ADCS) for Supply Chain Management, G-3 on 30 July 2023. As the ADCS for the AMC Supply Chain Management Directorate, Mr. Martin is responsible for planning, directing, integrating and coordinating the execution of all functions, operations and activities in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Depot/Arsenal Management, Organic Industrial Base operations and modernization, and Enterprise Logistics Systems Management.
He previously served as the Director of the Organic Industrial Base modernization Task Force. Prior to arriving at AMC, then COL Martin served as the Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
His military command assignments include the Aviation Center Logistics Command, Fort Rucker, Alabama; 601st Aviation Support Battalion, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas; and D Troop, 1st Squadron, 10th US Cavalry, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
Throughout his career, Mr. Martin served in a variety of staff assignments including Seminar Leader/ Instructor for the Advanced Military Studies Program at the School of Advanced Military Studies, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Aviation Logistics Division Chief for the DCS, G4, HQDA; Deputy G3, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas; Battalion Executive Officer of 4th Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; Brigade Executive Officer of the 21st Cavalry Brigade, Fort Hood, Texas; and principal planner and writer for the Chief of Staff of the Army’s Holistic Aviation Assessment Task Force.
Mr. Martin graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 1995 and received his active duty Army commission as an aviation officer through Army ROTC. Throughout his 28-year military career, he served in multiple command and staff positions at various levels, including multiple operational deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
His military education includes the Aviation Officer Basic Course, the Aviation Captain’s Career Course, the Combined Arms Staff Services School, the Command and General Staff College/ Intermediate Level Education and the School of Advanced Military Studies Program, as well as the Army’s Strategic Leadership Studies Program. Mr. Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Studies from Webster University and two Masters of Military Arts and Sciences from the School of Advanced Military Studies.
