Description

The DoD and the defense industry are concerned that the Defense Industrial Base is not prepared or capacitized to support surges in demand associated with potential wargaming scenarios with our key adversaries.

To address this concern, NDIA, in coordination with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base policy, is organizing a Contested Logistics workshop to elucidate the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) infrastructure and policies necessary to transform current DoD supply and distribution systems to maximize distributed mission effectiveness and system readiness to address responses to these potential international incidents.

A particular wargaming scenario in the Indo-Pacific has been selected by the DoD as an example, to elucidate requirements for Air Force weapons and supply platforms including the F-35, C-17, C-5, and C-130.

The purpose of the Contested Logistics Workshop is to identify DIB requirements for critical platforms, components, materials and manufacturing processes and approaches for supporting U.S. forces in the near-term window of 1-4 years.
