Dr. John Hannan is Chief of the Digital Battlespace Management Division within the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) Chemical and Biological Technologies Department in its role as the Joint Science and Technology Office for Chemical and Biological Defense, an integral component of the Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBDP).

Dr. Hannan leads a multidisciplinary team of civilian and contractor scientists engaged in the development of digital tools that provide the warfighter with comprehensive data fusion and analysis capabilities to support situational awareness, decision making and threat management while planning for or operating in chemical/biological contested environments.  The products resulting from these research and development efforts are designed to transition to acquisition Programs of Record, primarily within the CBDP.

Dr. Hannan holds a Ph.D. in Physical Meteorology from The Florida State University and is a DTRA Distinguished Technical Fellow. He has published extensively in the peer reviewed literature including the Journal of Geophysical Research, the Journal of Climate, Geophysical Research Letters and Atmospheric Environment.
