Bio

Mr. John Bestall is the Chief of Force Management and Manpower for 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives (CBRNE) Command.  Mr. Bestall leads a team of military and civilians, who serve as command lead for DOTMLPF integration, modernization, experimentation, and test & evaluation.  These activities require continuous collaboration across WMD, CBRN, and EOD mission partners across US Army Forces Command, Army Materiel Command, Army Futures Command, Department of the Army, the joint force, special operations, and a variety of materiel development and industry partners.

 

Prior to this position, Mr. Bestall worked as a contractor in the HQDA G-3/5/7, G38 EOD Branch office, where he was responsible for shaping Army EOD policy, strategy, and operational integration.

 

Mr. Bestall entered the Army in 1997 when he enlisted as an Electronic Warfare Signal Interceptor - Persian Farsi linguist.  In 2002, Mr. Bestall changed occupational skills, becoming an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician.  Mr. Bestall is a retired combat veteran, reaching the rank of Sergeant Major after 24 years of continuous active-duty service to the nation.

 

Mr. Bestall earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with a focus on organizational leadership from Trident University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.  Mr. Bestall completed numerous leadership courses, including the Army Sergeants Major Course.  His military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Ribbon.

 

John has been married to the former Rachel Weeks from Huntsville, Alabama for over 21 years.  They have one son, John Michael who currently is serving in the United States Air Force.
