Bio

Major General John T. Reim has served as the Joint Program Executive Officer Armaments & Ammunition and the Commanding General, Picatinny Arsenal since June 2022.

MG Reim is a native of Franklinville, NJ, and graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management. He held a variety of leadership and staff positions within the 3rd Infantry Division, Germany and XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC before entering the Acquisition Corps. MG Reim’s acquisition assignments include: Weapon Systems Acquisition Manager, U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC); Deputy TRADOC System Manager for Battle Command, U.S. Army Combined Arms Center; Field Office Chief and Assistant Program Manager for Special Programs, USASOC Ground Applications Program Office (GAPO); Requirements and Programs Division Chief, later J8 Director and later Executive Officer, Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC); Program Manager Special Programs, USASOC GAPO; J8 Director, JSOC; Program Executive Officer (PEO) SOF Warrior, U.S. Special Operations Command; and Chief of Staff, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (ASA(ALT).

MG Reim’s General Officer assignments include: Deputy for Acquisition and Systems Management, ASA(ALT); and Deputy Commander, Combined Security Transition Command - Afghanistan, later Deputy Director, and later Director, Defense Security Cooperation Management Office - Afghanistan.
MG Reim’s professional education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, the Command and General Staff Officer Course, the U.S. Army War College’s National Security Fellowship at UNC-Chapel Hill, the Defense Acquisition University Executive Program Manager’s Course, and the Senior Acquisition Leader Development Program. He is a Level III certified acquisition professional in the Program Management career field and holds a Master of Arts degree in Procurement and Acquisitions Management from Webster University.

MG Reim’s military awards include: the Defense Superior Service Medal (2 OLC), the Legion of Merit (1 OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC). His decorations include: the Parachutist Badge, the Parachute Rigger Badge, Brazilian & Australian Parachutist Badges, the Army Staff Identification Badge, and the Order of Saint Martin. MG Reim and his wife Patty are the proud parents of four children, who form the core of "Team Reim!”
