Bio

Mr. Alvin Bing currently serves as the Product Lead for Common Tactical Truck, where he provides senior level program management and guidance in leading the development, acquisition, testing, fielding, sustainment, and modernization of the Army’s next generation of Heavy Tactical Vehicles.

Prior to his most recent assignment, he served as the Product Manager for Heavy Tactical Vehicles.  Mr. Bing’s other assignments include a broad range of positions to include Product Director for Medium Tactical Vehicles, Program Officer for Product Manager (PdM) Allied Tactical Vehicles, Program Officer PdM Heavy Tactical Vehicles, Department of the Army Systems Coordinator (DASC), Systems Acquisition Manager PdM CE/MHE and Staff Liaison for PEO Integration.  In January 2007, Mr. Bing began his civilian career serving as a Mechanical/RAM Engineer for Project Manager, Heavy Brigade Combat Team. 

Prior to his civilian service, Mr. Bing held multiple engineering, manufacturing and quality/reliability positions within the automotive industry; working directly for Ford Motor Company and General Motors.  Mr. Bing currently serves as an Officer in the U.S Air Force (Michigan Air National Guard).

Mr. Bing graduated from Howard University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. In addition, Mr. Bing also holds a master’s in business administration from New York Institute of Technology.  He became a member of the Army Acquisition Corps in May 2008.  Mr. Bing is Defense Acquisition Workforce Level III certified in Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Production, Quality and Manufacturing.  

His civilian awards and honors include the Meritorious Service Medal, Commander’s Award(x2), Army Achievement Medal, and Army Superior Unit Award.  His military awards and decorations include the AF Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, GWOT Service Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and AF Longevity Service.
