  • 11/21/2024 1:00 - 2:00 pm ET
  • Event Type : Webinar

Description

Contested Logistics describes the challenges and intricacies associated with supplying and sustaining operations in competitive environments, sometimes during active military operations. Political, social, and economic factors can have effects at all levels of logistics spanning from the strategic level down to the tactical edge. In a contested environment, the competitor aims to alter, halt, or destroy friendly logistics, and to overcome these threats, success requires innovative solutions from academia, industry, and the DoD. To navigate the associated complexities of a contested environment, emerging and innovative technologies and capabilities can prove paramount. For example, thinking about “software as a service” can help make supply chains more resilient and adaptable to better sustain the mission. The webinar will provide an overview of “contested logistics” and how it differs from traditional logistics, as well as discussing how new technologies and methodologies are being used to address the challenges of contested logistics.
