Bio
COL Scott D. Gould is the Deputy Director for the Joint Requirements Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense within the Joint Staff J-8.
COL Gould commanded Dugway Proving Grounds in Utah, (2019-2021), Blue Grass Chemical Activity (2016-2018) at Blue Grass Army Depot in Kentucky, the 44th Chemical Company (2001-2003), and the 503rd Chemical Detachment in Heidelberg, Germany (1997-1999).
His key assignments include Chief of the Technical Training Department at the USACBRN School, the Operations Officer for the 110th Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort) and the Executive Officer for the 23rd Chemical Battalion. The CBRN Officer for the J5/8 Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction Branch and Executive Officer to the J5/8 at Headquarters, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany. Prior to his current assignment he was the Full Spectrum Protection Division Chief at HQDA DCS G-8.
He received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Colorado with a degree in Physics. He holds Masters’ Degrees in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
