Bio

Katie Magnus serves as a Professional Staff Member on the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC). She handles portfolio areas spanning the Personnel and Readiness Subcommittees: Defense Logistics Agency; military family policy; awards, commemorations, decorations, and memorials; small business programs; national defense stockpile and critical materials; morale, welfare and education; cemeteries; Department of Defense schools; POW/MIA issues; suicide prevention; and wounded warrior issues. She works with the Readiness Team on Military Privatized Housing reform. This is her seventh year on the SASC.

Prior to joining SASC, Katie was the Manager of Operations at the Washington Office of MacAndrews and Forbes Incorporated, a private diversified holding company with interests in a broad portfolio of publicly traded and privately held companies.

Katie is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Politics and the Naval War College with a Master’s in Defense and Strategic Studies.
