Bio
Jaeheon Lee is an associate professor in the Department of Mining Engineering at Colorado School of Mines and associate director of Kroll Institute for Extractive Metallurgy. He is a faculty member of NSF funded IUCRC Center for Resource Recovery and Recycling and DOE funded research consortium Critical Materials Institute. Lee has over 20 years of industrial and academic experience with Newmont, Barrick, the University of Arizona, and Colorado School of Mines. He has worked on various projects globally and is an expert in ore characterization, metallurgical processing, and project management for base metals and precious metals. Prof. Lee has extensive experience of bioleaching and biooxidation of sulfide minerals with various strains of microorganisms.
