The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) is the DoD Field Activity responsible for managing DoD, industry, academic, and public access to defense-funded scientific research. As the Department’s scientific and technical information knowledge provider, the organization plays a key role in facilitating classified and unclassified information sharing on research & engineering efforts relevant to national defense. DTIC also administers the DoD Information Analysis Centers which bring together subject matter experts to provide a wide array of technical analysis, conduct basic and applied research, and evaluate the state of the art.
