On September 12, 2021, Ms. Saunders, became the Director, DLA Human Resources (J1). Serving as the Director, J1 she is responsible for providing expert professional executive leadership, impetus, and direction in establishing and maintaining a proactive, visionary, vigorous, human resources program that is responsive to the needs of both DLA management and employees and assures optimum productivity and goal attainment in all program functions. Worldwide mission responsibilities of the Director, Human Resources include: human resources program planning, evaluation, and policy development; organizational manpower and allocation management; position management and classification; recruitment and staffing; incentives; performance management; awards; employee orientation, development, and training; talent and succession management; policy development; labor relations program guidance and policy development; employee relations; employee communications; human resources information services; pay/compensation and benefits administration; employee services and counseling; and military personnel management.
