Bio

Janet Hern has been employed at DLA Land and Maritime for 12 years, beginning in 2011 as a Post Award Contract Administrator.   With twenty-eight years prior experience working in customer service and sales in the commercial freight transportation industry, she was advanced in 2013 to a position with the Project Management Team implementing the First Destination Transportation and Packaging Initiative (FDTPI).  Janet currently works in Land and Maritime’s Supplier Relations and Program Management Division as   a liaison between DLA vendors, distribution, acquisition and policy personnel, the 3rd party logistics provider (3PL), and DLA customers to solve transportation issues, and manage transportation projects.   Janet works with Vendor Shipment Module (VSM), on a daily basis and presents at the quarterly Land and Maritime Small Business Training, Knowledge, Opportunity (TKO) Webinars.

Janet is Life Cycle Logistics level II certified and holds memberships in the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA), and Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP).

Away from work, Janet attends local theatre and Broadway productions and is also a summer boating enthusiast.  She is currently serving as a member at large for America’s Boating Club of Central Ohio.
