B. Stephanie Siegmann is a litigation partner at Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP and serves as the Chair of two of Hinckley Allen’s practice groups – International Trade & Global Security, and Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Data Protection. Stephanie’s practice focuses on cybersecurity and data protection, international trade involving export controls and sanctions, cyber incident response, compliance, white collar defense, government enforcement, internal investigations, and intellectual property and proprietary information theft. Stephanie has been a trial lawyer for 25 years, has overseen hundreds of complex investigations, and is recognized as an expert in the area of national security, cybersecurity, and trial practice. She offers extensive experience and insider perspectives in white collar defense, trial tactics and strategies, crisis management, and government enforcement.  She conducts internal investigations, provides assistance in the preparation and review of export-control and cybersecurity compliance policies, interfaces with law enforcement agencies, responds to government inquiries and subpoenas, seeks to favorably resolve government enforcement matters, and provides aggressive representation in civil and criminal matters. 

Prior to joining Hinckley Allen in March 2022, Stephanie handled and supervised some of the highest profile national security matters in the country during her 18-year tenure as a former prosecutor and National Security Chief in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.  In her capacity as National Security Chief, she was responsible for supervising all national security investigations and prosecutions in Massachusetts, including national security cyber intrusions, international and domestic terrorism, terrorist financing, violations of U.S. export control laws and sanctions regulations, theft of intellectual property and proprietary information, money laundering, espionage, and tax and bank fraud.  Stephanie began her legal career as a prosecutor in the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps and prosecuted numerous violent crimes such as murder and rape as well as computer offenses.   

Stephanie has earned numerous honors and awards during her career, most notably, The Massachusetts Lawyer’s Weekly’s Top Woman of the Law (2021) and Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Go To Lawyer (2022), the Women in Federal Law Enforcement Top Prosecutor in National Security, and while in the Navy, she earned both the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.  Stephanie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History and Psychology and graduated magna cum laude from Suffolk University Law School with a Juris Doctor.
