Bio
Guy has over 40 years of experience in the Federal and Department of Defense (DoD) operations, logistics, and energy management portfolios. Guy’s expertise includes logistics and after-market strategy development and implementation, as well as a vast understanding of the Federal and DoD Energy market and its supply chain, from refinery to end user. Guy is an expert in understanding DLA’s Six Supply Chain Organizations, demand planning, contracting strategies and customer facing strategies. EXPERIENCE
Before joining Cypress International, Guy served at all levels in the Department of Defense logistics operations and management organizations. He was previously the Deputy Director of DLA Operations responsible for procurement, supply and distribution in six supply chains for the Federal Government and DoD. He also served as the J4 of Multinational Forces Iraq during their surge in 2007/08 as well as serving as the Civilian Deputy to the Deputy Commander for Support of US Forces Afghanistan in 2011/12. Guy’s experience in uniform found him commanding tactical logistics units at every level to Division Support Command, serving 14 years overseas in Korea, Canada, Europe, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He served seven of his last ten years in uniform inside the Pentagon in the Army G3, G4, G8 and the Chief of Staff of the Army’s Office. His joint experience was both in Iraq, Afghanistan, and his last eight years of service in the Senior Executive Service in the Defense Logistics Agency supporting all five DoD Service Components and the Federal Government.
Guy’s Senior Executive Service includes serving as the Deputy G4 at US Forces Command, Executive Director for Logistics Policy and Planning DLA J34, Executive Director for Logistics Operations DLA J31, Deputy Commander DLA Energy and Deputy Director of Logistics Operations DLA J3. His experience in US Forces Command found him guiding the Operations & Maintenance Budget of the largest Army Command during sequestration and two government shutdowns. His experience in the Defense Logistics Agency included supporting FEMA crisis operations support to 16 Hurricanes, 5 World Humanitarian Crisis including two Pandemics, Ebola and COVID-19, and 6 US Forest Service Fire fighting Seasons while conducting Logistics Sustainability Analysis of six supply chains supporting OPLANs for US INDO-PACOM, US EUCOM and US CENTCOM.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
Guy’s training and education includes Department of Defense Acquisition Life Cycle Logistics Level III Certifications, a MS in Resourcing of the National Security Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, a MS in Materiel Acquisitions Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, a DOD 12 month Fellowship assignment with the Marriott Corporation, and a BS in Business from Emporia State University.
ORGANIZATIONS
Guy is a NDIA Sub-Committee Co-Lead for Energy and Climate Change, NDTA Sub-Committee Co-Lead for Energy, and an Advisor to the Defense Science Board for Defense Critical Infrastructure. Guy was recently nominated to be a Panel Member of the 345 Panel on Weapons System Sustainment.
