Stephen Jameson
Director, JADC2 Strategy
JADC2: All Domain Warfare Symposium : Industry AI/ML Panel
Mr. Steve Jameson is Director of the Solution Architects organization supporting the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of BAE Systems Intelligence and Security (I&S) sector. He leads a group of experts developing technical solutions for a diverse technology portfolio spanning intelligence, space, cyber, cloud/DevSecOps, and C5ISR integration. He is also the lead for development of strategy for Joint/All-Domain Operations (JADO) for I&S. He brings to this role an extensive background of over 30 years of leadership in defense research and development, with a focus on sensor fusion and analysis, intelligent autonomous systems, and decision support, including four years as a Program Manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Prior to his current role, Mr. Jameson spent 2 years as a Technology Development Director in BAE Systems FAST Labs, the research organization for BAE Electronics System sector. In this role he was responsible for developing and implementing advanced autonomy concepts to support manned/unmanned teaming, mission level autonomy for teams of unmanned systems, and autonomous decision support systems.
From August 2014 to October 2018, Mr. Jameson was a program manager in DARPA’s Information Innovation Office (I2O). While at DARPA he led three major research programs. The Causal Exploration program developed a modeling platform to aid military planners in understanding and addressing underlying causal factors that drive complex conflict situations. The Big Mechanism program developed technologies for a new kind of science in which research is integrated more or less immediately—automatically or semi-automatically—into causal, explanatory models of unprecedented completeness and consistency. The Insight program developed new tools and automation to enhance intelligence analyst capabilities and performance, developing an adaptable, integrated system for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) information to augment intelligence analysts’ support of time-sensitive operations on the battlefield.
Mr. Jameson joined DARPA following a 27-year career in advanced technology development at Lockheed Martin Corporation where his research focused on artificial intelligence, sensor and data fusion, and unmanned autonomous systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Science degree in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania.Speakers
