Michael Sale is an operations leader with 10 years’ experience in manufacturing and supply chain within the defense sector. He started his career in manufacturing at age 17 as a Tool and Die apprentice. After High School he opted to enter the workforce full-time as a CNC Machinist where his defense experience began. In 2015 he moved to Northern Virginia where he accepted his current role at L3Harris, managing the Machine Shop and serving as a Project Manager for development programs. He participates in the NDIA Manufacturing Committee on Workforce and is a student at the University of Maryland. Michael strives to be a lighthouse for positive change by sharing his personal story and spreading his passion for closing the skills gap by advocating for improved hiring practices, accessible education and on the job training programs.
