Ms. Emily Novak is the Technology Manager of the Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR)/ Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs for Team Ships Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate. She is responsible for the initiation, financial and programmatic execution, and transition of innovative new SBIR technologies into the US Navy In-Service Fleet and New Construction Acquisition Programs of Record. Her role includes working closely with Program Offices within Team Ships on the practices and procedures required to maximize the use of small business innovation within their programs. From 2015-2021, Ms. Novak served as the SBIR Program coordinator for Team Ships. Prior to the SBIR program, Ms. Novak provided direct support to the NAVSEA Chief Technology Office (SEA 05T) evaluating and transitioning select Naval Research and Development (R&D) projects into the US Naval Fleet and shipyards.
