NDIA Small Business Innovation Summit and SBIR Topics Workshop
Ms. Mackey is the CEO and a Co-founder of Beacon Interactive Systems, a small business innovator headquartered in Waltham, MA. Beacon is a valued and rapidly growing provider of mission critical systems to the Department of Defense. With a full-fleet deployment of initial NAVSEA SBIR investments, Beacon’s digital products drive operational efficiency, improve sustainability and unleash productivity.
Ms. Mackey’s professional interests involve the intersection of digital transformation and workforce impacts while her non-profit interests include small business, entrepreneurship, women’s leadership, and STEM innovation.
Ms. Mackey is the Division Chair of NDIA’s Small Business Division as well as an active member of NDIA’s Defense Workforce Project. She also serves as the 2021 Board Chair of NSBA, the National Small Business Association.
Ms. Mackey’s recognition includes an Entrepreneurial Leadership Award from the Boston-based Women Entrepreneurs in Science & Technology, a Tibbetts Award from the Small Business Administration, and a Champion of Small Business Innovation Award from the Small Business Technology Council.
Prior to Beacon, Ms. Mackey worked at Digital Equipment Corporation where she began her career as a hardware engineer. Ms. Mackey is a proud graduate of Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
