Mr. Tom McNeil is the Associate Director of the Advanced Concepts Laboratory. Tom's four-decade professional career has spanned basic and developmental research, defense acquisition, military operations and intelligence, and includes over sixteen years of commercial industry Federal communications program experience. McNeil’s research portfolio spans a range of critical DoD and intelligence community areas, including verification and validation of military system-of-systems simulations, future complex scenario modeling, physics-based signals analysis for electronic warfare, and end-to-end advanced kill chain analysis. Prior to joining GTRI in 2010, he served in various senior level technical and management roles in the information technology and telecommunications industry focused on network infrastructure technologies and physical layer architecture with responsibilities that included directing applications engineering and solution development. Tom is a retired US Air Force officer with extensive experience in electronic warfare and information operations as well as systems acquisition and U.S. government operational requirements. Technical experience also includes design engineering, teaching physics at the US Air Force Academy and consulting internationally at NATO. McNeil serves on the External Advisory Board of the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory at Georgia Tech and recently served as a member of the US Air Force Scientific Advisory Board.
