Bio

Dr. John F. Raquet is currently the Vice President for Dayton Operations of Integrated Solutions for Systems, Inc. (IS4S), where he is working to develop flexible, open-architecture navigation approaches that enable rapid integration of new navigation technology.  Prior to starting at IS4S in April 2019, Dr. Raquet served for 21 years as a professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), where he was also the Founding Director of the Autonomy and Navigation Technology (ANT) Center.  While at the ANT Center, Dr. Raquet developed or demonstrated over 16 different non-GPS navigation phenomenologies, including use of vision, signals of opportunity, and magnetic field variations.  Dr. Raquet has a BS in astronautical engineering from the US Air Force Academy, and MS in Aero/Astro Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD in geomatics engineering from the University of Calgary.  He has published over 190 navigation-related conference and journal papers and taught over 75 navigation short courses to thousands of people in many different organizations.  Dr. Raquet is a fellow of the Institute of Navigation (ION) and served as the ION President from 2017-2019.  He was also AFIT’s first US Fulbright Scholar, serving as a visiting professor at University of Tampere in Finland for six months in 2010.  Dr. Raquet served as an active duty Air Force officer for 14 years and was in the Air Force Reserve for an additional 10 years.
