Jerzy Piatkowski is Vice President of Contracts & Commercial for General Dynamics Mission Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics. He is responsible for managing a team of approximately 170 contract professionals in the U.S, Canada, UK, and Italy. General Dynamics Mission Systems delivers mission-critical, cyber-secure systems for military and government organizations worldwide. The company formed when General Dynamics combined General Dynamics C4 Systems and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems into a single business entity effective January 1, 2015.
Mr. Piatkowski is retaining a role as Associate General Counsel and works closely with the Law Department. He is often called upon for legal advice on specific programs and issues with which he has particular history or experience. Prior to being named Vice President of Contracts in 2013, Mr. Piatkowski was Associate General Counsel at General Dynamics C4 Systems’ Law Department.
After graduating from law school in 1991, Mr. Piatkowski spent three years in Washington, D.C. with the law firm of Miller & Chevalier where he specialized in government contract law and two years in Washington, D.C. and Minneapolis, MN with the law firm of Popham, Haik, Schnobrich & Kaufman where he specialized in government contracts and international trade law. He then began his in-house career as an attorney with Motorola in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Mr. Piatkowski earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Foreign Service with a specialization in international politics and Russian Area studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He earned his law degree with high honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law where he was the Senior Articles Editor for the Connecticut Journal of International Law. He lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife, Alycia Piatkowski and two daughters.
