Bio

John Wagner is the Vice President for National Security Space at the Sierra Nevada Corporation and leads corporate government relations and strategy to best support the National Security Space and Intelligence Communities.

Prior to joining SNC in 2018, John served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years and commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels that included the 45th Launch Support (Spacecraft Processing and Integration) Squadron at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida; the Joint Space Operations Center and the 614th Air and Space Operations Center at Vandenberg AFB, California; and the 460th Wing and Installation Commander at Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado.

John built and supported teams that led U.S. global space operations, space launch and spacecraft integration/assembly, spacecraft mission operations, global and theater missile warning, space surveillance and control, and military space command & control. John also served on several higher headquarters staffs that included developing the Schriever Wargame Series at the Space Warfare Center, speechwriter to the Commander of Air Force Space Command, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s Strategic Planner for Iran, and the Air Force Chief of Staff’s Chair at the National Defense University and Dwight D. Eisenhower School.

John is a graduate from United States Air Force Academy in Astronautical Engineering, and holds graduate degrees from the Air Force Institute of Technology (MS Astronautical Engineering), Bowie State University (MA Business Administration), Air Command and Staff College (DG, MS Military Operational Art and Science), the School of Advanced Air & Space Studies (MS Advanced Airpower Science), and the National War College (DG, MS National Security Strategy).
