Bio
John Taft is a retired Special Forces Colonel, and recipient of 4 Bronze Star Medals for combat deployments in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Other operational command assignments include Special Operations Command Forward-Lebanon and Special Operations Command Forward- East Africa. John also served as the senior military assistant for the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict and he served as a military assistant for the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. Notably, John is a distinguished graduate of the United States Army War College. Currently, John is a Specialist Leader for Deloitte, Consulting. In collaboration with Deloitte Government Insights, John contributed to the publication of two articles. The first article titled, Special Operations Forces and Great Power Competition – Talent, Technology and Organizational Change, which was published in June 2019. The second article SOF Culture is the Mission, was published July 2020. Last year, John was accepted into the NYU Stern Executive MBA program and is part of their Class of 2022.
