Description

NOTE: DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND NDIA'S CONTROL, THE 2021 AIRCRAFT SURVIVABLITY SYMPOSIUM IS POSTPONED UNTIL FEBRUARY 2022. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THIS SPACE FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS SOON.

*Please note: This event is closed to the press as it is classified SECRET//NOFORN.

The 2021 Aircraft Survivability Symposium is a SECRET//NOFORN event; attendees must hold at least a Secret clearance and be U.S. citizens. Please review the security clearance and gate access information page when available and submit your clearance information via DISS according to the instructions. Non-CAC cardholders will also need to submit gate access information.

Recent guidance released by the Deputy Secretary of Defense requires that all travelers to the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) attest to their vaccination status via DD Form 3150. Please note all attendees and speakers must carry a completed DD Form 3150 that must be kept on their person and shown at the symposium check-in. At this time, NPS is not accepting negative COVID test results in lieu of this document. All attendees must be fully vaccinated, no exceptionsDownload Form DD 3150 here

WHY ATTEND?

The goal of this three-day, classified symposium is to foster technical dialogue and exchange of information on aircraft survivability topics such as design, operational experience, threats current and future, reliability, maintenance, and testing of aircraft survivability technologies.

Using the Naval Postgraduate School as our venue and co-sponsor provides attendees a unique symposium experience that offers a forum for learning through its presentation of relevant tutorials on the first day and then presentations by senior keynotes from government and industry, the armed services, industry, and academia on survivability-related subjects on the following days.

These presenters will discuss survivability technologies, survivability sustainment and operations, threats, and countermeasures. This symposium will also include warfighter information on survivability effectiveness in today’s fight, which will inform solutions for tomorrow’s challenges.

During both days of symposium presentations, there will be a technical poster papers area where additional content can be viewed and discussed outside of the formal session presentations. The event is specifically structured to facilitate a relaxed dialogue and continuous networking opportunities among attendees. Finally, NDIA’s Combat Survivability Division (CSD) will recognize individual technical and leadership achievements in a formal awards ceremony during lunch on the third day.

 WHO ATTENDS?

*Numbers are based on in-person attendance at the 2019 Aircraft Survivability Symposium.

At this time, this event is scheduled to be conducted in person at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.

The health and safety of our members, registrants, exhibitors, and staff constitute our highest priority. We will continually monitor reports from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to adjust plans as needed.

NDIA is implementing all guidance and recommended safety measures issued by WHO, CDC, DoD, and OPM as well as state and local health authorities. We will work with all symposium partners to ensure the safety of all meeting and symposium participants.

All participants can expect to see heightened levels of onsite cleanliness and accommodations. We encourage all event participants to take CDC-recommended common-sense health and safety precautions.

As symposium details are finalized, NDIA will provide full updates for the overall event, including what in-person attendees can expect. As these decisions are made, NDIA will be fully transparent and communicate with event participants. Please check our onsite COVID 19 FAQ page for more information.

NDIA has a policy of strict compliance with federal and state antitrust laws. The antitrust laws prohibit competitors from engaging in actions that could result in an unreasonable restraint of trade. Consequently, NDIA members must avoid discussing certain topics when they are together at formal association membership, board, committee, and other meetings and in informal contacts with other industry members: prices, fees, rates, profit margins, or other terms or conditions of sale (including allowances, credit terms, and warranties); allocation of markets or customers or division of territories; or refusals to deal with or boycotts of suppliers, customers or other third parties, or topics that may lead participants not to deal with a particular supplier, customer or third party.
