Mr Bernard Smith-Roberts is the Engineering Systems Manager for Explosive Materiel Branch within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group of the Australian Department of Defence. In this role, he is responsible for the engineering system under which safe, environmentally compliant and effectively performing explosive ordnance is delivered to the Australian Defence Force.

Mr Bernard Smith-Roberts’ career over the last ten years within the Australian Public Service has spanned a number of roles within explosive ordnance and high-risk platform integration, systems safety and regulatory organisations.

Mr Smith-Roberts graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Engineering (Systems Engineering) with Honours in 2010, and from University of New South Wales (Australian Defence Force Academy) with a Masters of Systems Engineering in 2013.
