Irvin Varkonyi, CSCP, CLTD, PLog, is President of Supply Chain Operations Preparedness Education (SCOPE), a firm offering training and consulting in organizational preparedness for private and public sector organizations. SCOPE seeks to add value to organizations through training human capital and improving their ability to focus on the urgency of organizational balance by optimizing operational performance while simultaneously minimizing organizational vulnerability. He is a member of the Supply Chain Risk Management Consortium. In partnership with the Canadian Professional Logistics Institute, the Consortium has developed the first ever, case based Supply Chain Resilience certification.
Mr. Varkonyi and partners at the SCRM Consortium have created an online, multi-level course, “Supply Chain Risk and Resilience,” which will enable organizations to improve their competitive position while they minimize the negative impact of disruptions
Mr. Varkonyi is a certified instructor with APICS, teaching their Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and Certified in Logistics and Transportation Distribution (CLTD) programs. Mr. Varkonyi’s career has encompassed the global transportation and logistics system working with global carriers and Third Party Logistics. He teaches in supply chain risk management, transportation security and logistics operations as an adjunct professor at George Mason University, University of Denver and American Military University.
Mr. Varkonyi holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a B.A. in International Relations and Economics from Clark University.
