STEPHEN CAMBONE, Associate Vice Chancellor for Cybersecurity Initiatives, Texas A&M University System
He is responsible for creating and leading interdisciplinary cybersecurity and related programs within the System. In this role he works with research professors and professionals in the Schools and Centers of the flagship campus, Texas A&M University, and with the member universities of The Texas A&M University System, the Academic Alliance at RELLIS and the System's academic, private sector and US government partners.
Dr. Cambone served as a senior official in DOD from 2001-2006, including Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Polic, Director of Program Analysis and Evaluation (PA&E) and as the first Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence. From 2007-2012 he held senior positions with QinetiQ North America, including as President of its then-largest operating unit. Prior to joining TAMUS, he founded Adirondack Advisors, LLC to provide advice to “startups” and early stage companies in the defense and intelligence market.
Dr. Cambone has taught for Johns Hopkins University’s Advanced Academic Program and Villanova University.
He received his M.A. and Ph. D in political science from Claremont Graduate School and his B.A. in political science from The Catholic University of America.
