Mr. Elder is technical director and business unit lead for Modern Technology Solutions Inc, MTSI, Lethality group, a 30-member group with over 200 years of collective experience in kinetic and directed energy weapons lethality.  He holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics and has attended numerous short courses on terminal ballistics.  He has over 35 years of professional experience working U.S. DoD programs, and is a nationally recognized and is an award-winning expert, specializing in kinetic energy weapons lethality modeling and simulation and analysis.  Mr. Elder has authored and led development of several accredited computer codes that have been heavily utilized to support numerous U.S. weapons programs, since circa 1992.  He recently led a group that successfully achieved accreditation of MTSI developed lethality software, circa 2020, for a National Offensive Hypersonics program. He has authored more than 25 papers for numerous conferences, and received best paper award, twice.  He was most recently awarded the Tennessee Valley Chapter NDIA Technology Award for 2018, for his lethality work on modern offensive systems hypersonics programs since 2012.
