Oak Ridge MDF Tour

This tour will involve a walk-through of the Department of Energy’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Tour Information:

The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Manufacturing Demonstration Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory is a DOE user facility which facilitates the rapid adoption of advanced manufacturing techniques to enhance U.S. workforce competitiveness. While touring the facility, visitors will see equipment and projects related to several R&D areas including:
  • polymers and composites
  • large-scale metal
  • metal powder systems
  • hybrid systems
  • metrology and characterization
  • manufacturing analytics and simulation, researchers 

Important Notice:

Closed toed shoes are required when touring the Manufacturing Demonstration Facility. Food and drink are not permitted.

The tour will take place from 11:00 am - 12:15 pm on Thursday, September 12.

In order to attend the tour, we ask that attendees check the box for the tour during registration. There is no additional fee to attend, but attendees must register in advance.
