Protection, Sustainment and Warfighter Performance
PS&WP supports the range of military operations – warfighting to peacekeeping. PS&WP research topics are focused on an individual Warfighter and include combat clothing and equipment, nutrition / supplements / combat rations, physical enhancement and injury prevention, vehicle escape and crash safety, warrior systems integration and analysis, as well as topics related to cognitive preparedness and assessment. The PS&WP will also focus on support to the warfighter for seamless integration of novel technologies that will enable tactical dominance, with a focus on advanced human factors, human/machine interaction, and effective group dynamics.
This track invites submissions that address current challenges and ongoing or future efforts in areas such as research metrics for quantifying warfighter physical performance in operational environments, the interaction of physical and cognitive stressors on warfighter effectiveness, mitigation of physical performance decrements through advanced systems and techniques that enhance resiliency.
