Description

On the evening of Tuesday, August 1, the NDIA Space Division will host its annual Peter B. Teets awards dinner, presenting the Space Division’s highest award.

The National Defense Industrial Association’s (NDIA) Space Division is pleased to announce it will present the Honorable Peter B. Teets Award on the evening of Tuesday, August 1 at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, VA to Lieutenant General Samuel A. Greaves, Director, Missile Defense Agency, Ft. Belvoir, VA and Mr. Richard F. “Rick” Ambrose, Executive Vice President, Space Systems Company, Lockheed Martin Corp.

Lt. Gen. Samuel A. Greaves, Director, Missile Defense Agency, has been selected as the government awardee. MDA’s mission is to develop, test, and field an integrated, layered, ballistic missile defense system (BMDS) to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends against all ranges of enemy ballistic missiles in all phases of flight. General Greaves directs the organization spanning 14 time zones with more than 8,000 military, civilian and contract personnel.

This year’s industry honoree is Mr. Rick Ambrose. Mr. Ambrose is Executive Vice President of Lockheed Martin’s Space Systems business area and an officer of Lockheed Martin Corporation. Space Systems is a $9.1 billion enterprise that employs approximately 18,000 people and provides advanced technology systems for national security, civil and commercial customers. With over 35 years of experience in the defense and aerospace industry, Ambrose has led a significant number of programs in support of military, commercial and national security missions.

The Honorable Peter B. Teets Award is the Space Division’s highest honor and recognizes public and private sector leadership or achievement that results in significant contributions to the development, introduction, operational contribution or support of space systems. Each year the division recognizes an individual from government and an individual from industry.

Please note a separate registration is required to attend the National Security Space Policy and Architecture Symposium. Visit the symposium website for more information.
