Capability Maturity Model Integration Project

The NDIA Systems Engineering Division was the industry sponsor for the CMMI project and provided CMMI Steering Group leadership from the inception of CMMI in the 1990’s up until its transition in 2013 from the Software Engineering Institute to the CMMI Institute as a mature technology with broad worldwide acceptance.  In 2016 the CMMI Institute was acquired by ISACA.

The NDIA Systems Engineering Division continues to advocate the use of CMMI-based improvement to achieve business performance value, as described in its position paper, and supports the ongoing improvement of the CMMI product suite through stakeholder groups and its NDIA CMMI Working Group.
