U.S.-ROK Defense Consultative Committee (DICC)
The Defense Industry Consultative Committee (DICC) was formed in 1993 by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) and the Korean Defense Industry Association (KDIA). The DICC mission is to provide a forum for developing and sustaining a U.S.-ROK Industry dialogue on defense technological and industrial cooperation, and to offer appropriate industry recommendations to the Defense Technological and Industrial Cooperation Committee (DTICC) and the Security Consultative Committee (SCC) which are established by memorandum of understanding (MOU) between ROK and the U.S. Issues to be addressed by the DICC include but are not limited to:
- Cooperative research and development
- Co-production
- Date Exchange Agreements
- Expansion of reciprocal procurements
- Industrial teaming for cooperative programs
- Joint approach to third country markets
- Other cooperative projects
- Technology transfer
- Third country sales and royalties
- Trade offers
DICC membership is drawn from KDIA and NDIA member companies active in the international market place. The DICC meets once a year, alternating between Washington, DC and Seoul, ROK.
