Mission

The Data Analytics and Enterprise Platforms Division, in accordance with NDIA's Articles of Incorporation, by-laws and policies will foster collaboration among innovative government, industry and academic leaders operating in the artificial intelligence, software, autonomy, enterprise data, and analytics sector to drive the strategic implementation of these digital technologies for national security. The Division will align with NDIA’s mission by providing technology roadmaps that strengthen the national security industrial base that support National Security Strategy (NSS) and National Defense Strategy (NDS) priorities by addressing technical challenges and procurement policies and practices, relevant to this division.


Objective

The Division’s primary objectives are:

  • Building data-focused coalitions: The strategic priorities and coalition building opportunities specific to the CDAO, CIO, CTO, AO, and CDO organizational roles.
  • Enterprise data connections and governance: Enterprise software acquisition and procurement: Intellectual Property (IP), program structure, prime and sub relationships, and labor cost-related topics.
  • Contested logistics autonomy and AI deployment: The primary technical and policy challenges related to leveraging and deploying autonomy software and AI capabilities supporting contested logistics workflows.
  • Cloud, edge, and hybrid platform architecture: topic focused on discussing acquisition and engineering concepts necessary to successfully deliver scalable enterprise data architecture aligned to NDS priorities and decision advantage objectives.
  • Scalable AI architecture: topic focused on discussing methods to scale data, analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities using open data and government-owned interoperable repositories.
  • Software test, evaluation, and validation: topic focused on discussing weapons certification, joint interoperability testing and certification requirements, software production-quality, testing, and compliance policy.
  • Software accreditations: topic focused on discussing the importance of agile methodologies, CI/CD software pipelines and deployment processes, ATOs, etc.
  • Responsible AI: topic focused on the ethical use, principles, and implementation of AI for National Defense priorities.
