Mission

The association’s CBRN Defense Division promotes the exchange of information — technical and operational — related to defenses against weapons of mass destruction among the Defense Department and other government agencies, industry and academia. The functional areas the division addresses include traditional defensive measures, chemical weapons demilitarization, treaty compliance, industrial base issues and domestic preparedness.

Objective

The objectives of the CBRN Defense Division are to highlight issues related to:
  • The acquisition of goods and services related to chemical and biological defense, including technology development.
  • Research and engineering, procurement and logistical support.

Our principal involvement here is with the Joint Program Executive Officer-Chemical Biological Defense, which sponsors the annual Advanced Planning Briefing for Industry and participates, as needed, in quarterly meetings of the Chemical Biological Defense Acquisition Initiatives Forum.

Topics: CBRN, Chem Bio Protection
