Models of Excellence: NTSA Honors Winners of M&S Awards at I/ITSEC 2024

(Orlando, FL) The National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) proudly celebrated the recipients of the 2024 NTSA Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Awards, December 3rd, 2024, at its Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the world's largest modeling, simulation and training event.

The winners, who exemplify the dedication and innovation of the M&S community, were recognized during the Senior Leaders Networking Hour and NTSA M&S Awards Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Orlando Hotel.

NTSA Lifetime Achievement in Modeling & Simulation

Dr. Alok Chaturvedi, Purdue University

Dr. Chaturvedi’s innovations in agent-based modeling and simulation have revolutionized the field and inspired a generation of researchers and decision-makers.

NTSA RADM James A. Robb Lifetime of Service Award

Allan "Al" G. Rodgers, Polhemus

Rodgers’ five-decade career in motion tracking technology and VR/AR simulation has had a profound impact on military training systems.

2024 NTSA Modeling & Simulation Awards Winners

Education and Human Performance: Dr. Meredith Carroll, Florida Institute of Technology

Dr. Carroll’s groundbreaking cybersecurity program has inspired over 100 high school students from underrepresented groups to explore STEM careers, significantly increasing their cybersecurity knowledge and confidence.

Training Systems Acquisition: Raoul "RA" Rall, Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division

Rall’s swift action and leadership led to critical updates in E-2D Operational Flight Trainers, ensuring enhanced safety and readiness for pilots across the fleet.

Simulation and Training: Ship/Tow Simulator Team, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The Ship/Tow Simulator has transformed harbor design, navigation safety, and crisis response, as demonstrated by its pivotal role in the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse response.
