NDIA Calls on Congress to Enact FY2025 DoD Appropriations, Avoid Shutdown or Prolonged CR
(Arlington, VA) NDIA applauds the bipartisan House and Senate passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025. The FY2025 NDAA authorizes critical resources that support our warfighters, deters great power competitors, and makes investments and acquisition reforms towards building a more modern, diverse, and resilient U.S. defense industrial base (DIB).
NDIA also urges Congress to prioritize enactment of the FY2025 Department of Defense (DoD) Appropriations Act as soon as possible and avoid either a government shutdown or long-term continuing resolution (CR). CRs and funding disruptions have a significant negative impact on our national security and the U.S. DIB as they inhibit U.S. innovation by prohibiting new starts, disrupt production of strategic platforms, including shipbuilding and submarines, contribute to shortfalls in munitions, and cancel or curtail essential training and equipment maintenance. Swift passage of the FY2025 DoD Appropriations Act is critical to ensuring our warfighters have the platforms, equipment, and services they need to conduct their missions and to maintain their competitive advantage against any potential competitor.
