NDIA Commends Bipartisan House Approval of FY 2025 NDAA, Urges Swift Senate Action
12/11/2024
NDIA has issued the following statement on House passage of the FY2025 NDAA:
NDIA applauds the bipartisan House passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 and urges the Senate to swiftly pass the legislation. The FY2025 NDAA authorizes critical resources that support our warfighters, deters great power competitors, and makes investments and acquisition reforms towards building a more modern, diverse, and resilient U.S. defense industrial base (DIB).
NDIA also urges Congress to prioritize enactment of the FY2025 Department of Defense Appropriations Act before the end of the year and avoid either a government shutdown or long-term continuing resolution (CR). CRs and funding disruptions have a significant negative impact on our national security and the U.S. DIB as they inhibit U.S. innovation by prohibiting new starts, disrupt production of strategic platforms, including shipbuilding and submarines, contribute to shortfalls in munitions, and cancel or curtail essential training and equipment maintenance. Swift passage of the FY25 DoD Appropriations Act is critical to ensuring our warfighters have the platforms, equipment, and services they need to conduct their missions and to maintain their competitive advantage against any potential competitor.
