Army's Wesley, Greiner lead experts at debut robotics event next month

ARLINGTON, VA – Lt. Gen. Eric Wesley of the Army Futures Command and Helen Greiner of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) kick off two days steeped in technology and its fit in operations at the National Defense Industrial Association’s 2019 Robotics Capabilities Conference and Exhibition, April 24-25, at the Columbus Georgia Convention & Trade Center.

NDIA presents this comprehensive program in collaboration with Army Futures Command, Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning.

NDIA welcomes these keynote speakers as they share their expertise with an audience full of government, military, academic, industry and small-business attendees, all who know the importance robotics play in the Army of the future:

• Once called “the Army’s senior futurist,” Wesley is deputy commanding general of the Futures and Concepts Center. He will address preparing for multidomain operations and the role of robotics.
• Greiner, HQE (highly qualified expert) in robotics, autonomous systems and artificial intelligence, will discuss her industry experience and what’s in store for the military.

Other military, government and industry experts will talk about multidomain robotics and how it’s being integrated into the Army’s next combat strategies – plus the opportunities it makes for research and for business. A host of technical sessions will look at subjects as varied as unmanned systems and engineering, precision strike, artificial intelligence, autonomy-enabled platforms and more.

The exhibit hall will feature the best and brightest contributions to robotics to date, plus a demonstration of robotics technologies to round out the program.
