I/ITSEC 2018: 16,000-plus to attend world’s largest training, simulation event
ARLINGTON, VA -- Launching innovation in learning for military and national security preparedness will bring more than 16,000 people worldwide to Orlando for this year’s Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), Nov. 26-30 at the Orange County Convention Center.
More than 450 exhibiting companies from industry, military, government, academia and research organizations as well as dozens of nations will be at I/ITSEC, the world’s largest training and simulation conference and exhibition. Registrants so far represent about 52 countries, organizers said.
This year’s focus, “Launching Innovation in Learning: Ready, Set, Disrupt,” will center on machine learning and artificial intelligence in training and exploiting disruptive technologies. main features of I/ITSEC 2018 include:
- The continuing multiyear examination of how big data and big-data analytics can improve human performance. Nanotechnology and dramatic advances in robotics will make for a completely transformed environment in a few short decades, or even years. How to align training with the new ecosystem for a fully effective feedback loop between humans and nonbiological intelligence will be a notable challenge.
- A more seamless integration of live, virtual and constructive training methodologies as all military services explore how to capture advances in synthetic environments to train better while also achieving economies.
- The use of robotics and haptics for medical training and modeling complex systems, such as weather or astronomy.
- A robust STEM component, with student leaders showcasing their research. Expect to see and meet educators from around the country and many universities among the exhibitors.
