Senate confirms NDIA-endorsed leaders Nielsen at DHS, Murphy at GSA
ARLINGTON, VA – The National Defense Industrial Association congratulates Kirstjen Nielsen and Emily Murphy, confirmed as Homeland Security secretary and General Services Administrator, respectively, by the Senate this week.
NDIA endorsed Nielsen’s nomination because of her expertise in homeland security policy, government leadership and cybersecurity. She has filled major roles in both the White House and DHS since the beginning of the Trump administration and has proven herself an effective leader. We know Nielsen’s experiences will foster strong government-industry collaboration that is critical to the innovation needed to stay ahead of changing and adapting threats to the homeland.
NDIA endorsed Murphy because of her knowledge and detailed understanding of federal acquisition rules. She's worked tirelessly to improve the acquisition environment so that more small businesses could succeed. She has been an advocate for small business throughout her professional career and has advised the acting GSA leader.
NDIA looks forward to both Nielsen’s and Murphy’s leadership and the guidance they’ll provide our members.
